Fusion dosas in SoHo NYC

I love NYC! and I love shopping in SoHo!

While I am out and about in the big apple, browsing all the small boutiques and breathing the NYC wibe.. I try visit Hampton Chutney for dosas… ‘NYC style’!

I am a big sucker for Indian food, and tried my first dosas in London at Rasa Samudra in Charlotte street (now relocated to 6, Dering Street).

Now.. dosas at Hampton Chutney are very different from the traditional ones, a sort of magic fusion of indian and western flavours … and I find the combinations delicious!

Last time I visited, I ordered the Fresh Tomato, Arugula & Cheese dosa with cilantro chutney and fresh lemonade with orange blossom.

My dosa was huge… crisp and yummy. The filling was fresh, generous and really tasty;  the cheese was melted to perfection,  the cilantro chutney complemented the explosion of mediterranean flavours really well.

Just a warning, this place can get really crowded during lunch and there is a pretty limited availability of seating, so it needs a bit of adaptation skills!

But I recommended it for a quick pit stop and a bit of interesting people watching whilst shopping.
